Sitework-The first step when you build a house or an addition
When you build a house, clean and stable soil is essential to a foundation's ability to support its weight. If clay or muck is present, it must be removed or your house may settle.

I experienced first hand dealing with a site work company that didn't take the needed steps to test the property that I built my home on. It was only after the first pad was built that the inspector required me to have a soil boring test done. The test came back that there was muck present 5' below grade. So, out came the pad and more than 5' below at my expense along with the expense of the new pad being done. Great information Kia. Wish I would have known it 5 years ago.
